Land to Market Australia

About Us

Land to Market Australia

Land to Market Australia is a program designed by the Australian Holistic Management Cooperative Project, in collaboration with the Savory Institute, and made possible by support from the Australian Government's Farming Together program. See the Background page for more on the origins of the program and the Australian Holistic Management Cooperative Project.

Uniquely, this project is being driven by a reference group of farmers themselves – see the Profiles page for more on the Reference group participants.

The Governing Committee

The core governance process is carried out by a board comprised of Tony Hill (chair), Anna Coughlan (deputy chair), Ian Chapman and Brian Wehlburg. All board members are experienced Holistic Management practitioners, and Ian, Brian and Tony are accredited Holistic Management educators.

Ian Chapman leads the Hooves to Humus (Savory Institute) Hub in New South Wales and is an experienced farmer, primary producer and VET educator.

Anna Coughlan runs a 4,000 head beef cattle operation near Holbrook in New South Wales with her husband Michael, based upon Holistic Management principles. Anna also has extensive experience of governance processes in the education sector.

Tony Hill has extensive experience with governance in the non-profit sector, including roles as President of the Internet Society of Australia for a decade, President of the Australasian Research Management Society and Chair of the National ICT Industry Alliance. Tony has extensive skills and experience in project management, including timely delivery, probity and adherence to funding agreement requirements. Tony also runs his own company, Capital Hill Consulting, focused primarily on assisting groups in strategic planning and establishing Cooperative Research Centres. These centres have attracted government grants of $20 million to $40 million, as well as matching funds to a total of three to four times this amount.

Brian Wehlburg raise beef cattle guided by a grazing plan developed using the principles of Holistic Management. Brian also teaches Holistic Management courses across Australia.
